Solarcarports – the multi benefit PV concept
A PV-concept, which acts both as a carport as well as PV system is undoubtedly one of the most sustainable PV concepts for the years to come. The carport offers multiple benefits. It provides shade and protects against rain, hail and snow. Additionally, solar carports will most likely serve as filling stations for electric cars. At the same time solar power is produced with competitive solar feed-in-tariffs for roof tops, which has a very positive effect on the yield of PV carport projects.
Our solarcarport approach
The concept of Scatec Solar Carport provides the design of solarcarports in the megawatt range. The Scatec Solar solarcarport Quincieux in France (2010) is a flagship project that sets new standards. 5,000 parking spaces will be covered with carports with a PV capacity of 8.7 MWp - approx. 38,000 PV-modules which produce electric energy for about 7,000 citizens.
